Mend to Extend: Block Printing on Fabric Workshop 🪡 | Ages 11+
Event description
This workshop is for thrifty creators, ages 11 and up! Youth under 16 should come accompanied by an adult.
This 2-hour workshop will be dedicated to the practices of mending and upcycling our own clothes not only to extend the life of our wearable resources and keep textiles out of the landfill, but also to explore our fashion creativity and personal style!
Students will learn the art of linoleum cutting and make a simple linocut stamp to block-print on a patch of fabric or an article of clothing. Patching materials provided, but we encourage you to bring articles of clothing or textiles to decorate (or just print over some stains)!
This workshop series is for people who care about the environment, who want to expand their sewing skills, and who find comfort in a crafty community! ✨
This program is supported by funds from the Oregon Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.
