Mend to Extend: Teen Cosplay Studio Day 🪡 | PPS Early Release | Ages 13-17

SCRAP Education is excited to offer this grant-funded after-school program on one of PPS's early-release days, focused on the construction and sewing of cosplay outfits. This mini-camp is for thrifty middle and high schoolers, ages 13-17!

This after-school Wednesday workshop will be dedicated to the practice of making cosplay items from reused materials, including fabric, craft foam, yarn, cardboard, and found objects. Participants will learn a handful of unique techniques for cosplay, including X, X, X.

Participants will have access to loads of fun materials the studio, and also lots of specialized tools including sewing tools, hot glue guns, rasps and files, pliers and wire cutters, and so much more. Bring your cosplay works-in-progress, and get them done with help from crafting experts!

Note: While the studio has a LOT in it, we may not have that exact special material you dream of, the pattern for your outfit, or the right color of fabric. For any particularities of your cosplay, be sure to bring those special materials in from home, and we'll help you apply the right techniques!

This workshop is for young people who care about the environment, who want to expand their sewing skills, and who find comfort in a crafty community! ✨

Schedule:
Drop off: 1:15 - 1:30pm (Programming begins at 1:30pm)
Snack break: 2:50 - 3:00pm
Pick up: 4:30 - 4:45pm (Programming ends at 4:30pm)

• Title I Student Scholarship (FREE!) - Available through December 3rd, 2025 at 4pm!

• Workshop Participant ($25) - Available through December 3rd, 2025 at 4am!
