SCRAP Education is excited to offer this grant-funded after-school program on one of PPS's early-release days, focused on hand-sewing projects This mini-camp is for thrifty middle and high schoolers, ages 11-17!

This after-school Wednesday workshop will be dedicated to the practice of hand-sewing, the foundation of all sewing (even on machines!). Participants will learn hand-sewing and embroidery basics, and then will get to choose their journey: will you embroider a patch with your name on it? Will you whip-stitch a small hand or finger puppet, or a soft felt keychain to hang on your bag? Will you design your own pocket altar? Will you make a custom small stuffie? The world is your (fiber) oyster!

This workshop is for young people who care about the environment, who want to expand their sewing skills, and who find comfort in a crafty community! ✨

This workshop is supported by funds from the Oregon Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Schedule:
Drop off: 1:15 - 1:30pm (Programming begins at 1:30pm)
Snack break: 2:50 - 3:00pm
Pick up: 4:30 - 4:45pm (Programming ends at 4:30pm)

Title I Student Scholarship (FREE!) - Available through May 7th, 2025 at 4pm!
Workshop Participant ($25) - Available through April 16th, 2025 at 10am!
