Event description

This online course is specifically tailored for Primary School Leaders and Staff of primary school aged children's mental health.

In recent times leaders and teachers have noticed a significant increase in issues relating to student health.
It is common that teachers and support workers will be assisting students with mental health problems.
A mental health problem may not be a diagnosed illness but may be severe enough to warrant crises such as impaired daily functioning and/or having thoughts of suicide.

Leaders and Staff will also be aiding students who may have a caregiver or family member struggling with such mental health problems as anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and/or substance use.
The workshop will cover:

  • Understanding mental health; stress, anxiety, depression, and suicidal ideation
  • Age-appropriate mental health promotion for students
  • Responding to mental health problems - individuals and in-class response
  • Supporting students through family crises
  • Referral to services

3-hour duration led by our experienced trainer Linda White who holds Post Graduate Diplomas in both Psychology and Counselling.

Please note: This online training requires you to have both a working camera and microphone.
