Event description

Mental Health and Wellbeing Mastermind for Small and Family Business

For too long small and family business owners have been led to believe their wellbeing is a luxury that comes after everything and everyone else.

In partnership with the South Australian Government Office for Small and Family Business we’re running a series of Mental Health and Wellbeing Masterminds across metropolitan and regional South Australia.

Designed specifically to target the unique challenges faced by small business owners and employees each Mastermind consists of two or three 3-hour fun, engaging small group sessions to help participants…

  • Connect, share and build relationships with other small business owners
  • Recharge and prioritise their own wellbeing
  • Recognise common symptoms of mental health conditions
  • Understand the impacts of stress, overwhelm and carrying the mental load
  • Better manage the mental health of their team and build a culture of wellbeing
  • Create boundaries to protect their time and energy
  • Balance the demands of work and home
  • Lead with confidence and clarity
  • Experience improved relationships
  • Enjoy greater satisfaction at work

SESSION 1: How much are you carrying?
Thursday 17th October 2024 | 9:15am - 12:15pm

Using a range of fun, engaging and hands-on small-group activities we ask the questions “How much are you carrying?” and “What can you put down?”

We provide a safe space for you to openly discuss, share and explore the challenges and difficulties you face in small business including the impacts of stress, overwhelm, the mental load, and the responsibility for juggling all the balls in your work and private life.

SESSION 2: Boundaries, balance, and other wellbeing wonders
Thursday 21st November 2024 | 9:15am - 12:15pm

To help you create and maintain healthy wellbeing practices we give you access to our extensive bank of tools, tips, and techniques to help you communicate, set boundaries, balance work and life, and protect your time and energy so you can enjoy the benefits of being a workplace that prioritises wellbeing, including increased confidence, improved decision making, stronger leadership, higher productivity, longer staff retention and improved relationships with employees, suppliers and clients - even if your business is just you.

TICKETING INFORMATION

This mastermind is delivered as a series of two 3-hour sessions designed to build on the knowledge and information from the previous session. Whilst participants are encouraged to attend both sessions you are welcome to book sessions individually as content will be tailored to the knowledge and experiences of the group.

ABOUT US

At Ignite Wellbeing we have over 20 years experience in facilitation, mental health training, art therapy, and counselling but above all, we’re a small business too.

We get the late nights, the early mornings, the complete lack of balance when it comes to business and life. The stress that comes with having staff (or not having staff), making money, being the constant decision-maker, and carrying the mental (and physical) load…. We’ve done all that too.

Mastermind sessions will be facilitated by Founder and Director of Ignite Wellbeing Bel Ryan and in collaboration with other expert facilitators who will share their knowledge around wellbeing and mental health.

This initiative is proudly supported by the South Australian Office of Small and Family Business. It addresses the recent finding reported in their 2023–2030 strategic plan, revealing that 62% of small business owners feel that their mental health has been negatively impacted over the last 12 months.
