Mental Health & Wellbeing Workshop For Hospitality
Event description
Working in the hospitality industry, while rewarding, can also be isolating, unsociable, and high-pressure, often with intense competition. Mental health is emerging as a significant challenge, with 80% of workers reporting symptoms such as anxiety, depression, stress, and addiction.
Healthy Mind Menu promotes mental health and wellbeing among hospitality workers. We aim to prevent mental ill-health, build capacity to address psychosocial risks and respond effectively to reduce its impact on employees, employers, and their families.
The Workshop
Our workshop, developed in collaboration with a psychologist and drawing on the latest research, aims to provide practical tools and information that can be applied to daily life, improving mental health literacy across the industry. Through interactive exercises, participants will identify personalised wellbeing strategies for themselves and their workplace.
Workshop Aims:
- To understand health as a dynamic spectrum within the hospitality context.
- To learn how to identify and direct someone to necessary mental health resources.
- To understand psychosocial hazards that negatively affect hospitality workers.
- To gain practical skills in managing emotional labour and improving emotional regulation.
- To explore the Healthy Mind Pyramid its role in maintaining mental wellbeing, learning how to “Balance Your Plate” for better work-life balance.
- To create a collective vision for a supportive and healthy hospitality industry.
This workshop is suitable for all hospitality workers in various roles.
