Taxis can drop off at the front entrance of both venues. Call Cabxpress on 1300 222 977 or Canberra Elite on 132 227. ----- National Gallery of Australia Car: Paid parking applies on weekdays and weekends until 5pm in the main carpark. The main carpark is underground and accessible from Parkes Place off King Edward Terrace. Bike: There are 15 bikes racks in total at the Gallery. Ten are located at the base of the ramp at street level and there are five more closer to Lake Burley Griffin, near the Sculpture Garden. Bus: The closest bus stop is on King Edward Terrace and Parkes Place East, just a short walk from the Gallery. For timetable information visit Transport Canberra or call 131 710. ----- Old Parliament House Car: Parking can be accessed from King George Terrace. Accessible parking is available at the front of the building next to the ground level entrance. Fees apply Monday to Friday. Additional parking can be found at the National Archives of Australia, The John Gorton Building and the Treasury Building. Bus: Buses run regularly from Canberra City Centre to Old Parliament House. The closest stops are Parliament House Federation Mall stop (400m walk) - Bus routes 57, 58; the John Gorton Building Parkes Place stop (650m walk) - Bus routes 2,6; and Commonwealth Avenue, opposite Albert Hall stop (750m walk) - Bus routes 4,5,7,10.
Entry instructions
All Mental Health Australia Events will follow a COVID Safe Plan developed in consultation with the venue and based on ACT Health Guidelines at the time of planning and on the day of the event. ----- National Gallery The entrance to the Gallery's underground carpark is down a ramp from Parkes Place. As you turn off King Edward Terrace into Parkes Place the entrance is immediately on your right. To enter the carpark take a ticket and the boom gate will lift. The Gallery’s underground carpark has eight reserved spaces for visitors with a disability close to lift access that will take you to the main entrance. ----- Old Parliament House Enter through the terrace on the left-hand side of the front steps. Lift access is available at the ground level. Press the buzzer to enter through the doors on either side of the main steps.
Toilet location
National Gallery Accessible toilets are located on Ground level near the cloakroom and on Level 1 near the James Fairfax Theatre. ------ Old Parliament House Accessible toilets are located on the Lower Floor and the Main Floor.
