Event description

We’re offering community members the opportunity to take part in a FREE Mental Health First Aid training course to gain skills and knowledge to make a difference.

Mental Health First Aid follows a practical, skills-based approach where you’ll learn the tools to recognise and respond to someone experiencing a mental health problem or crisis until professional help can be accessed. Following the completion of this course, you will become an Accredited Mental Health First Aider.

This course will cover topics including;

  • depression

  • anxiety

  • psychosis

  • substance abuse problems

  • suicidal thoughts and behaviours

  • panic attacks

  • non-suicidal self-injury

  • traumatic events

This course takes part over two days and you must complete both days in order to receive accreditation.

Day 1: Tuesday 10 June from 9am to 5pm

Day 2: Wednesday 11 June from 9am to 5pm

You must be 18 years or over to complete this course.

Course content will be provided. You will need to bring your own lunch.
