Mental Health First Aid Course

A 2 day Mental Health First Aid Course held at the Michelago Hall 9am to 4pm both days.

The $20 cost of this course covers the MHFA handbook and hall hire (the full cost of this course would normally be $330/person). Adrian is very generously giving his time to run the course for free for residents of Michelago to help to create a mentally healthy community for us all.

PLEASE NOTE: This course is currently for Michelago residents only and you will need to show your driver's licence on the day to confirm.

There will be 1hr break for lunch and 15min each for morning & afternoon tea so please bring your own lunch or grab something from the store. And if you feel able to bring a plate of something to share for morning/afternoon tea that would be great.

About Mental Health First Aid

Approximately 20% of Australian adults experience a common mental illness each year. Completing an MHFA Course will help you to develop the skills to support a friend, family member or co-worker.

The 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid course is for any interested adult.

You will learn how to assist an adult who may be experiencing a mental health problem or mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence-based action plan.

This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.

About Adrian

Adrian is a highly engaging and motivating instructor who has a wealth of experience in facilitating courses across both the public and private sectors. He has delivered a wide range of management and development courses for organisations such as Department of Human Services and Canberra Institute of Technology. Adrian's academic qualifications include Diploma of Business Development, Diploma of Government, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and of course he is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a topic that Adrian is deeply passionate about and he is proud to be part of the MHFA team. Adrian also has a strong rural background and is more than happy to deliver MHFA across ACT and NSW in both metropolitan and rural/remote areas.
