What is Mental Health First Aid?
Our accredited MHFA training teaches participants how to assist adults experiencing a mental health concern, whether an emerging issue or a crisis. Just as physical first aid offers immediate care for physical injuries, MHFA prepares you to offer support until professional help is available or the situation improves. Delivered by certified MHFA instructors, participants will learn to:
- Recognise early warning signs of mental health concerns.
- Respond to crises like panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, or traumatic events.
- Providing initial support and connecting individuals to appropriate professional help.
What You’ll Learn
Through interactive workshops and expert instruction, participants gain practical knowledge to:
- Recognise early signs of mental health challenges.
- Apply a structured, five-step action plan to support someone in need.
- Understand how to connect individuals to professional help.
- Build resilience and confidence in addressing mental health challenges.
- Access resources to support ongoing mental health and well-being.
Certification
All participants who complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion, which recognises their participation and the skills they have gained. Those who undertake and pass the short online assessment will receive a Certificate of Accreditation, which is valid for three years, through Mental Health First Aid Australia.
