Mental Health First Aid Training
Event description
Mental Health First Aid is an accredited, evidence based program teaching skills, knowledge and awareness around common mental health conditions.
This program is delivered online via a mixture of self paced e-learning and instructor led Zoom sessions.
The e-learning component is approximately 6 hours of content to be completed in your own time.
The facilitator led training is 2 x 2.5hr Zoom sessions delivered by Liz Tully - Mental Health Fist Aid Accredited Instructor over two consecutive weeks.
Thursday 14 October: 8.30am - 11am (Brisbane time)
Thursday 21 October: 8.30am - 11am (Brisbane time)
This training course will cover:
- Learn about the signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions
- How to provide initial help
- Where to direct a person to get professional help
- How to provide first aid in a crisis situation
The course also includes a Mental Health First Aid manual with invaluable information including how to access mental health services across Australia.
Following completion of the program you will be invited to take an online assessment to receive a Mental Health First Aid certificate, valid for 3 years.
Places are strictly limited to 12 participants and available to adults over the age of 18. The content is only accessible for Australian audiences.
