This event has passed Register

Event description

Mental Health Recognition and Response for NDIS Support Workers is a one day workshop developed by NDS and Linda Rowley Consulting. With the introduction of the NDIS creating a growing market for the provision of supports, this non-accredited training aims to build the understanding and capabilities of disability support workers to provide safe, quality and responsive support to NDIS participants with psychosocial disability.

On completion of this workshop, participants will have developed their understanding and practical skills to:

  • Identify the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems, including anxiety, depression, substance use and psychosis.
  • Recognise and appropriately respond to non-suicidal and suicidal self-injury
  • Respond in a crisis situation
  • Work with their organisation to determine what to report and when to do so.

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.

Who should attend?

NDS invite disability support workers, particularly those new to the sector and with limited experience in mental health and psychosocial disability, to attend this training.
