Event description
Mentoring for a Mindful Life in 2025
4 x Weekly 90 Minute Group Sessions Begin Monday 6th January
From the comfort of your own home, workplace or wherever you are guided by acclaimed mindfulness mentor, Dr Sharn Rocco
"If you practice what Sharn teaches you will learn to manage and appreciate your life and time more effectively." – Margaret, Educator, Forster, NSW
"I am procrastinating less, getting more done and enjoying life more." – Mick, Groundsman, Father and Artist, Nowendoc, NSW
You will receive personalised, responsive advice that addresses your unique challenges, personality, and life circumstances. The diversity and shared experiences within an online group mentoring program such as this is especially engaging and transformative.
"It has fundamentally changed how I approach life …I didn’t expect to get so much out of it. I would have been happy to get half as much!!" – Moira, Mother & Business Manager, Townsville, Qld
Online group sessions remove barriers like travel time and location, making it easier to join and participate regularly. Being part of an inclusive group evokes a sense of accountability, recognition and curiosity, motivating you to show up, open up and benefit from Sharn's responsive guidance and the support, experiences and reflections of the group.
"Amazing! I learned a lot and it was great to have a group to meet with every week in a safe and inviting atmosphere." – Katherine, IT Co-ordinator, New York
Mindfulness is more than just techniques; it involves cultivating awareness, compassion, and wisdom. An experienced mentor helps you delve into the subtleties of mindfulness practices, offering insights that might take years to discover on your own.
Rooted in mindfulness traditions, like those taught by masters such as Thich Nhat Hanh and the Dalai Lama, Sharn draws on her own experiences, sharing relatable stories and practical strategies for integrating mindfulness into everyday life, work, and relationships. Being guided by someone who embodies mindfulness in their life serves as a living example of what is possible.
Sharn is an experienced and adept group facilitator. Responsive to the needs, interests and experiences of participants, each session will include guided mindfulness practice, opportunities for reflection, discussion, questions and, suggestions for bringing mindfulness to life every day.
"From a chronic pain view point mindfulness has greatly helped me; … people have noticed I seem happier/healthier and I have mentioned the wonderful tools I have been able to use thanks to Sharn." – Kym, Student, Townsville, Qld
Group settings bring together people from various backgrounds, offering diverse perspectives. Discussions and reflections can broaden your understanding and provide new approaches to applying mindfulness in your life.
Knowing that others are also participating and practicing creates a sense of accountability, encourages regular engagement and helps maintain commitment to your mindfulness journey.
"The group interactions helped me make new distinctions and have some new ‘aha’ moments. I felt it was all done very professionally with warmth and personality." – Sonia, Health Worker, Tamworth, NSW

Does it matter if I am completely new to mindfulness and meditation? Not at all. Whether you are completely new to the concept and practice of mindfulness or have been working with it for years, these interactive mentoring sessions will respond to where you’re at.
Why do I have a choice about what I pay? Sharn is committed to practicing generosity and honouring the kindness and wisdom of her teachers by making what she has learned from her decades of study and practice available free or as free as you want it to be. Generosity is a practice of giving and receiving without attachment or expectation. Please feel free to pay whatever you feel free to give. The $50 minimum is to ensure you commitment and secure your place. The upper limit is set at approximately half the Mindful Works group mentoring fee.
Can I pay by EFT or by cash on the day? YES. When you 'Get Your Ticket' simply pay $50 to secure your place then email to request EFT details.

What do I need to bring? An open heart and an open mind. Notebook/journal and pen. A water bottle. A quiet space preferably free from interruptions.
Is the program religious? No. The program is entirely secular. However, as well as being a scholar of contemporary mindfulness research and practice, and a certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Calm Abiding Meditation instructor, Sharn's teaching is informed by more than 20 years of studying traditional Buddhist texts and receiving instruction from some of the most distinguished meditation masters of our time, including Thich Nhat Hanh, the Dalai Lama and Mingyur Rinpoche.
