Event description

Thigibh còmhla rium airson aon no dhà chlas meòrachadh airson Seachdain na Gàidhlig 2025.  Bidh sinn a' coimhead air an ceangal eadar sinne agus ar inntinn.  Bidh na meòrachadh ann an dà-chànanach no Gàidhlig leis stiùiridhean sa Bheurla. Tha seo freagarrach airson duine sam bith, ma tha sibh air a bhith a’ meòrachadh roimhe no nach eil.

Whether you're experienced at mindfulness or wanting to get started please join me for one or two mindfulness classes as part of World Gaelic Week 2025.  We'll be practicing phrase led practices from the Plum Village tradition with opportunities to share our experience in small break out rooms.  Practices will be bilingual or in Gaelic depending on who attends.  The instructions or teaching around mindfulness will be in English because of my limitations, but I'll be encouraging the use of as much Gaelic as possible in a supportive environment.

The phrases have their own energy and we'll be honouring that and the languages in which we practice.  Mindfulness can have many benefits such as bringing feelings of peace and relaxation, improving concentration and a general sense of wellbeing.  Mindfulness practice isn't appropriate at all times or for everyone and so if you're not sure please email me at thamitoilichte@gmail.com to check and I'll happily help.

I've been practicing and teaching meditation and mindfulness since 2011 and would love to share this with you in the medium of Gaelic.  My journey with Gaelic began around the same time in 2012.

You'll ideally have at least some Gaelic so you can grasp some of the language used.  If you're really keen though, then you'll be very welcome as long as you're aware that we're trying to use as much Gaelic as possible.

You'll also be ok that I'm doing my best in my pronunciation and not mind the odd unusual utterance.

The sessions are aimed at adults.  If you have teens with Gaelic who would like to join with you on the same device, then they would be very welcome.  No extra ticket needed but if you could email to let me know then I'd be grateful.

All bodies welcome as you can sit on a chair or the floor and so we'll work out the way that's most helpful to you.

All tickets are pay what you can so that money need not be a barrier to attending.  The suggested exchange would be £7 per person, if that's helpful as a guide.  If you're able to contribute more, then that is welcome and will go towards the tickets where people need to pay less.  If there's more than one of you in your house who would like to join from the same device then they are very welcome too.

If you've any questions at all please get in touch at thamitoilichte@gmail.com.
