Seminar Title: Merging data science with behavioural science to predict and influence individual health behaviour at scale: Opportunity, Obstacles and Ethics.

Moderator: Dr Yoni Nazarathy, University of Queensland

Professor Nehama Lewis' research focuses on health communication, a multidisciplinary field of study and practice that is based on communication evidence, strategy, theory, and creativity to promote behaviours, policies, and practices that advance the health and well-being of people and populations. Dr. Lewis received her B.A. (2002) and M.A. (2008) from the Hebrew University, and an M.A. and Ph. D. (2010) from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania.

She has conducted extensive research on information engagement and health behaviour change. Dr. Lewis was the PI of a 4-year project (2013-2017), funded by a European Union’s Marie Curie grant (CIG, FP7, 333605), in which she tested a model of effects of exposure to information about substance use on nonmedical drug use intention and behaviour.
