Merri-bek Children's Forum
Event description
This forum, ‘Children as Change Makers’, will include activities and workshops that increase children’s knowledge of local civic and citizenship, build connection to local Council, and provide an important opportunity to inform upcoming Council plans and strategies, including the next Children, Young People and Families Plan.
We see children as the leaders of the future and want to ensure children are given the same opportunities as adults to have their say on matters and decisions made at Council. Most importantly the children will have a fun filled day of networking, building leadership skills and engaging in meaningful learning experiences.
Merri-bek City Council is a signatory to the Child Friendly Cities and Communities Charter and adheres to the Child Safe Standards and associated legislation.
Participants: Grade 4-6 students from across Merri-Bek’s 36 Primary schools (approx. 2-5 students/1 Staff member per school) are invited to attend.
Agenda: We are still finalising the agenda but can send through a copy once this has been confirmed.
