Join us at the Chapel of LIght for a performance by Metin Yilmaz and Larysa Kovalchuk.
Metin Yilmaz (Kaval – Kurdish flute) and Larysa Kovalchuk (soprano & Bandura – a traditional Ukrainian stringed instrument) bring together the sounds and stories of two rich cultures through powerful modern compositions and virtuosic improvisations.
Larysa, originally from Ukraine, studied at the Kiev Conservatorium and became a leading Bandura player and soprano. She has performed across Europe and Australia, including at the Sydney Opera House, and has recorded with SBS and ABC.
Metin, a master of the ancient Kaval, was born in Turkey and spent a decade touring Europe from Cologne, Germany. His deeply expressive playing has captivated audiences across continents.
Performance starts at 2:00 PM. Doors open 1:30 PM.
