MHFA for UNSW Staff - August 30 & 31

UNSW Health are pleased to offer subsidised Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training to UNSW Staff.
What is Mental Health First Aid?
Just like physical first aid courses train members of the public to provide basic first aid to someone with a physical health condition, MHFA teaches skills to help someone experiencing a mental health problem.
What’s covered?
- Mental illnesses: depression, anxiety, substance use disorders and psychosis.
- Mental health crises: suicidal thoughts and behaviours, non-suicidal self-injury, traumatic events and aggressive behaviours.
Who can attend?
Current UNSW staff.
What's the cost?
MHFA is subsidised for all UNSW staff through Strategy 2025 funding that is dedicated to enhancing UNSW’s support for students and improving student mental health.
The training is available at a subsidised rate of $75pp which includes a 4th edition manual.
There are two payment options
1. Payment by company credit card (or staff credit card to be refunded).
2. Payment by Internal Journal Transfer. (Funding Code, Dept ID and Project Code are required and will be charged at month end).
Please select the correct ticket type when booking based on how you wish to pay.
Please
confirm with your manager that you can access payment by journal
transfer or reimbursement (through Concur) if you use a credit card
before booking.
When and where?
The 12 hour course is delivered in John Goodsell LG19 from 9:30am to 5pm on
- Monday 30th August &
- Tuesday 31st August
You must be available to attend both days in full.
