MHM 2025 - Building Trust: How to Talk to Students About Learning Support
Event description
In celebration of Mental Health Month, we invite you to a special staff workshop, “Building Trust: How to Talk to Students About Learning Support", delivered to you by the Mental Health Network.
This workshop aims to build participants confidence to engage students with disabilities in respectful and informed dialogue about learning support needs and concerns. With a focus on establishing trust, the session will explore culturally safe communication strategies and empower students to seek help, while fostering an environment of understanding and collaboration. Participants will leave with practical skills to create inclusive, accessible, and supportive academic spaces for all students.
Content context: Our mental health is a part of what makes us who we are. Conversations about our mental health can sometimes be difficult but you don’t need to face it alone. Find the support you need to deal with what’s going on in your mind through services like Psychology & Wellness, through a range of helplines or check out UNSW’s range of support services.
Mental Health Month is coordinated by the UNSW Health Promotion Unit in partnership with students and staff across UNSW. We aim to encourage you to build your mental health skills and knowledge to make lifelong positive changes that will support your overall health and wellbeing beyond your time at UNSW.
