With the 2026 election on the horizon, Mental Health Matters Initiative is bringing together representatives from the major political parties for a panel discussion on their policies, priorities, and plans for youth mental health support.
Join us for a chance to hear directly from your representatives, ask the questions that matter to you, and make a more informed choice at the ballot box this year!
This event is open to everyone - students, young people, voters, and anyone interested to find out how mental health policy will be shaped in the next term of government.

The Hon. Matt Doocey
Matt Doocey has served as the MP for the Waimakariri electorate since 2014 and currently holds ministerial roles of Minister for Mental Health, and Associate Minister of Health.
Ingrid Leary
Ingrid Leary is the Labour Member of Parliament for the Taieria elctorate in Dunedin. She is the Labour spokesperson for Mental Health.
Kahurangi Carter
