Mickey and Michelle w/ Andrea Kirwin at Art Post

Peace Run Records presents celebrated Harp & Fiddle duo Mickey and Michelle in concert at Art Post in Gympie on Wednesday 28 October supported by Australian/Fijian singer-songwriter Andrea Kirwin. With doors at 6pm and show start 7pm, tickets are a sliding scale of $40 / $30 and $20 options for attendees to pay what they can to support these touring artists.

MICKEY AND MICHELLE

Descending from the mountains are harp and fiddle duo Mickey & Michelle, whose energetic and virtuosic performances have captured hearts throughout Australia and New Zealand. Celebrated for their intricate arrangements and heartfelt songwriting, Mickey & Michelle weave a gorgeous ‘chamber-folk’ tapestry of original Celtic music infused with vocal harmony and fiery improvisations.

The duo’s journey began with a wild idea: to walk the length of New Zealand on the 3000km Te Araroa Trail for six months, performing concerts along the way. This adventure forged a deep connection between their music, the natural world and the communities they encountered, inspiring carefully crafted lyrics and instrumentals that invite listeners to reflect on their own connection with the natural world.

Following the release of their album Solace in Wonder, Mickey & Michelle continued this journey with a five-month Northern Hemisphere tour through Canada, Spain, England, Scotland, Wales and Iceland. Along the way, they hiked the 800km High Route of the Pyrenees, formed lasting friendships with musicians and fellow adventurers around the world, and found inspiration in the North’s brutal and beautiful landscapes. 

Making their Gympie debut with new music shaped by these journeys, Mickey & Michelle invite you into an evening of soaring melodies, virtuosic instrumentals and heartfelt songs, pushing the boundaries of what harp and fiddle can do.

Andrea Kirwin

Australian Fijian artist Andrea Kirwin has built a strong following throughout her twenty year career in the Australian music industry from countless live shows across the Folk Festival circuit and her songwriting and storytelling. Based on the Sunshine Coast, she's continued to advocate for live music and hosts shows for touring artists such as this one, in regional towns and audiences. Andrea's currently working on her 6th album and will be sharing some of her new songs such as this one below, 'Adore', on Wednesday 28 October opening the show for Mickey and Michelle.
