As regulatory momentum builds in Australia and globally, industries such as freight, textiles and construction will face increasing expectations around measurement, disclosure, and risk management of microplastics in their supply chain. This event marks the launch of a new white paper exploring the growing microplastics challenge and provide practical steps businesses can take now to prepare.

  • Professor Martina Linnenluecke

    Professor Martina Linnenluecke

    Professor Martina Linnenluecke is an internationally recognised scholar in climate risk, corporate adaptation and resilience. Her research examines the strategic and financial implications of global environmental change, with a particular focus on how climate risks reshape firms, industries and financial markets. Her work has advanced understanding of sustainability, resilience and environmental finance, and has been widely published in leading academic outlets. She is the author of The Climate Resilient Organization and has published more than 100 academic articles, book chapters and conference papers. Her research has received multiple international awards and has informed policy and practice through close engagement with government, regulators and industry on climate risk and adaptation strategies.

  • Professor Ross Gordon

    Professor Ross Gordon

    Ross Gordon is a Professor of Behaviour and Social Change in UTS Business School, University of Technology Sydney. Ross is also Director of Change for Good at UTS, a Research Centre focused on transdisciplinary behaivour and social change for social good. Ross is an interdisciplinary behaviour and social change activist with degree qualifications in marketing, public policy, and politics and history. His work focuses on social issues and behaviour and social change, through a critical, reflexive and multi-perspective lens. Although an interdisciplinary researcher, Ross has specific discipline expertise lies in social marketing, transformative service, consumer cultures, and critical marketing teaching and research.

  • Elaine Clayton

    Elaine Clayton

    Elaine is the Product Standards & Compliance Lead for Big W. She is a consumer product regulatory specialist with eighteen years of industry experience working with industry and Government to deliver safer and more sustainable products to consumers within a regulatory framework that supports business transformation. She has broad knowledge and experience in the practical application of the Australian and New Zealand regulatory framework including Electrical Safety, EMC, Medical, Energy Efficiency, Water Efficiency, NICNAS and compliance with the Australian Consumer Law and mandatory product safety requirements of the ACCC.

  • Cip Hamilton

    Cip Hamilton

    Cip Hamilton is the Plastics Campaigns Manager at the Australian Marine Conservation Society (AMCS), leading advocacy to end plastic pollution at its source to prevent harm to marine wildlife and habitats. She previously worked in the Victorian Public Service, where she led the design and implementation of Victoria's single-use plastic ban. Cip has a strong focus on upstream prevention - tackling plastic pollution before it's produced. She has been involved in the Global Plastics Treaty process and continues to advocate for strong national packaging laws

  • Gary Kennedy

    Gary Kennedy

    Gary is the Managing Director of food safety consultancy, Correct Food Systems based in Surry Hills. In that role he advises and sets up systems for organisations to make safe food and to keep the records to show the food is safe and legal. He serves on a number of industry committees including the allergen advisory committee of Food Standards Australai New Zealand [FSANZ]. Often in the media, he is a regular presenter on ABC Sydney’s Afternoons radio program, talking all things food science. Gary Kennedy graduated from the School of Food Technology at UNSW.

  • Jessica Leck

    Jessica Leck

    Jessica Leck is Program Manager of GhostNets Australia at OceanEarth Foundation, where she applies systems thinking to complex marine conservation challenges. Her work focuses on empowering communities and developing collaborative solutions that deliver long-term, transformational change.
