Mid-Rise Wood Presents: Rocket&Tigerli in Auckland
Event description
Mid-Rise Wood Construction in partnership with Semi Permanent
In the next four years, the world’s tallest residential building with a load-bearing structure in wood, will rise above the ridges in the Swiss city Winterthur, close to Zürich. The 100-metres-tall tower, Rocket&Tigerli, is designed by award-winning Scandinavian practice Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects to create a framework for an active and attractive neighbourhood, deeply rooted in the area’s historical context, which offers modern, high-quality housing with maximum inflow of daylight.
In this special event presented in partnership with Mid-Rise Wood Construction, we are delighted to welcome Schmidt Hammer Lassen’s Global Head of Innovation, Enlai Hooi to share inspiring insights into the project and to discuss the opportunities for urban and building design.
Join Semi Permanent and our special guests for an intimate evening that will delve into the design process of the Rocket&Tigerli project, its structural approach and the wood solution, as well as to explore more broadly the carbon-environmental challenges and opportunities in the design industry and where this trend is headed in Europe.
