    Event description

Code of Ethics Noho Marae Training

    When: October 9th & 15th, 2024 | 9-4pm
Where: Arowhenua Marae, TE HAPA O NIU TIRENI MARAE, 39 HUIRAPA ST, TEMUKA, CANTERBURY, 7920

*Please note this is an OVERNIGHT training.
**This training is a pre-requisite for Rerenga Awa memberships.

The Code of Ethics for Youth Work in Aotearoa (COE) defines fundamental values and standards for youth workers in Aotearoa. Based off the principles of Mana Taiohi, COE does not have a 'Treaty Clause' but instead comprises 24 clauses committed to biculturalism and use practical examples critical to effective, ethical youth work practice.

The framework for these ethics trainings flows over two days, so you are invited to stay (noho) overnight to immerse yourself in the experience fully. We understand this may feel slightly intimidating, but we promise you will be well prepared to step onto the Marae. The skills and knowledge you will gain are invaluable to your personal and professional development as a youth worker. Remember, it's not about what you can't do; it's about growing in solid youth development practices for our rangatahi and celebrating the unique and necessary approach that defines youth work.

    Cost:
The price of this Code of Ethics training has been heavily subsidised to $100 thanks to external funding. If this price is out of your range, please get in touch to see how we can support you with this.

    Refunds:
We do offer refunds up to 7 days prior to training otherwise refunds would only be considered under significant circumstances. Without the sponsorship by the Dept. of Internal Affairs, each participant would be charged $240. If you can no longer attend and fail to communicate with Rerenga Awa staff, you will be invoiced for the full cost of the training.
