Mid West Star Trails - Mount Magnet Telescope Night
Event description
Join ICRAR for an evening of stargazing this National Science Week!
We’re busting out the telescopes and hitting the streets of Mount Magnet for this free stargazing event!
Come on down to the Mount Magnet Oval for a look through our telescopes to see the hidden wonders that lie at the heart of our galaxy the Milky Way. Also get a glimpse of the Moon, the planet Mars, and even deep space objects like the Jewel Box Cluster.
We’ll also have astronomers with us to give guided tours of the night sky, and Dr Ruby Wright will give a talk about the future collision between the Milky Way and our nearest galactic neighbour Andromeda.
This event is for anyone and everyone who is interested in space or just wants to see the night sky like you have never seen before. We will be there no matter the weather!
This is a FREE event, but we would love for you to register to let us know you’re coming.
