Hatched and hand-raised in Newcastle, NSW, Midnight Chicken are fast becoming a hot topic on the Australian bluegrass and country circuits.

With a bizarre and brilliant twist on traditional bluegrass, they deliver unforgettable renditions of old classics, traditional tunes, and modern favourites—served with a side of grit, groove, and humour.

In their short time as a band, they’ve toured nationally with Brad Cox, performed at major festivals like the National Folk Festival and Woodford Folk Festival, and wowed audiences in some of the country’s biggest regional theatres.

Collectively, the members have shared stages with greats including Kasey Chambers, Phil Emmanuel, Catherine Britt, Fanny Lumsden, Greg Sheehan, Julian James, Charlie & Jensen, and many more.

Their sound lands somewhere between Tony Rice and 50 Cent, with shades of Hank Williams, Chris Stapleton, Punch Brothers, and Tim O’Brien. Their debut self-titled album (released early 2025) has already been featured on ABC Country Radio.
