A Midsummer Night's Dream
Event description
Back when they all escaped to the woods in search of something…
Step into the surrounding forests of Woodstock '69, where city folk run from the mundane and groovy fairies lurk in the shadows.
The Arden Ensemble presents A Midsummer Night’s Dream in the unique style of the 1969 love revolution. Performed in the round by a cast of only five people (and a couple of stage managers…) get ready for the whimsy of the forest to unfold before your eyes.
Lysander and Hermia escape from their town to elope… Demetrius and Helena search the forest for their unrequited desires… Puck darts around the forest rousing trouble and roguery... Titania and Oberon’s feuding puts their love to the test…
…Meanwhile a ragtag group of zoned out hippies try to scrap together a half decent performance which could change their lives.
Contains themes of sex, drugs, and some staged violence
