Price $20 AUD + BF Get tickets

Event description

A heartfelt storyteller raised on Boonwurrung Country, the Mornington Peninsula coast, Mietta weaves place, feeling and community in a tapestry of story.

Drawing upon acoustic indie-folk influences, Mietta's earthy tones and grace on stage warm and soften the senses. This gentle soul’s stories and sounds invites you to rest, reflect, and tap into place and heart. A tender and powerful emerging voice in Australian contemporary folk, Mietta has supported the likes of Aussie singer-songwriter and guitarist, Pete Murray, and folk & blues artist, Kim Churchill, as well as our local storyweaver, MAXON. She has co-headlined the popular Ninch Nights initiative launched by the Mornington Peninsula’s own joy exuding folk-duo Sunday Lemonade, as well as the Penola Coonawarra Acoustic Music Gathering and Seven Sisters Festival.

In celebration of her debut single, ‘Slowly’, released this May, Mietta welcomes you to a night of story, connection and heart at our beloved local hang, Commonfolk Mornington.

Join us for an evening of warmth at this ALL AGES gig - surrounded by tapestry rugs, fairy lights, beautiful community, nibbles from Commonfolk's kitchen and the best coffee/hot choccies you'll find this side of the Ninch (wine will be available for +18 folks too!).

With cherished guests:

Chris Cavill

Chris Cavill is more than just a folk singer/songwriter; he's a storyteller, weaving tales of love, loss, and profound gratitude for family into his music. His live performances offer an energetic and uplifting representation of his released works, performing each of his songs with enormous pride and passion, openly sharing the stories behind them. In the past 12 months Chris has had standout performances at Cygnet Folk Festival, Yackandandah Folk Festival, SA’s Penola Music Gathering and Goodness Me Festival as well as being invited to play on the Busking Stage at this year's Bluesfest. One of the most special and distinctive aspects of his performance is the inclusion of his son Jesse, a budding talent at just 9 years old. What started as the odd song or two with Dad on stage has quickly progressed into a jaw-dropping, dynamic musical combination that is captivating live audiences across the country. Their cover of Neil Young’s 'Old Man' has amassed over 280K views on YouTube, touching the hearts of viewers worldwide.

Timothy Li

Timothy is the warm and beloved friend and producer who produced 'Slowly' with Mietta this Summer. A Melbourne born singer/songwriter and musician Timothy Li discovered his love for songwriting in his late twenties. After studying music, performing and supporting several bands and artists, Timothy has unreservedly pursued his solo projects whilst discovering a sea change by living, recording and producing modern folk and indie originals close by Torquay with his family. Tim is pure magic - with him contributing to the space, you're in for a treat.
