MIGHTY MOHAKA 2026
Description
PRANZ, MIGHTY MOHAKA regional meet - Labour weekend - 23 to 26 October
Camping venue is the same as last year if you attended. We have private access through a forestry road to the old Everett's camp. The venue is a perfect spot right next to the Mohaka river
There is an option of an overnight walk in and paddle down to the event with the overnight stop at hotpools. Check out Upper Mohaka trip details.
See below link for the Facebook pre-event walk in and paddle

This link is for a google document so we have a few more details for the walk in as well as the main event.
Arrive Friday afternoon and setup camp. Will get a few more details out closer to the time so keep an eye out on the facebook page regarding access times.
Basic directions turn off state highway 5 onto Waitara Rd, Continue past Glenfalls Campsite, the road eventually turns to gravel. Keep going until you see a forestry road sign (Harris Rd) on your left. There is a forestry gate we have access to. It will be locked earlier on the Friday so will need to wait for one of the organizers to open. The forestry road is 5+ km heading down to the camp... stay on the main track and watch out for traffic coming the other way.
We will aim to have markers out to help with directions.
Ticket price includes access and camp fees. Note the road in can be rough so not recommended for camper vans or very low cars.
Training and skills sessions on Saturday.
Remember to bring the following:
All packrafting gear; including whitewater appropriate helmet, PFD and gear. Check it twice!

There is no running water at camp so bring a filter or plenty of bottled water.
