    Event description

    BUILDING SAFE AND STRONG COMMUNITIES

Please join us for an interactive discussion on innovative ways to take action to build safe and strong communities.

Round table discussions will be led by community advocates Mitra Zarrati, Theresa Ssali, and Sarah Chong to support Service Providers and Local government with a cultural lens when addressing:

    • Allyship and supporting activism,
    • Creating strong and safe communities, and
    • How your organsation can work with the community in a united effort towards achieving equality and respect.

Mitra Zarrati is a Bicultural Community Engagement Worker, Access Health and Community | Nutrition and Public Health

Theresa Ssali is President and co-founder of the African Women’s and Families Network

Sarah Chong is Team Leader of Community Engagement at Women’s Health East

    Please note, spaces are limited.

This occasion is designed to inform best practices, strategic planning, community consultation strategies and generate collaborative project ideas.

We encourage attendees to come prepared with context specific to their organisation's current strategic scope for addressing equity, inclusion and family violence.

At the end of the meeting, there will be an exclusive survey/feedback on the discussion.

Please participate in CCOEI’s survey about MSC meetings and topics for 2025. (Link below)
