Mindful Earth Refuge- Toronto Eco-Dharma Community June Meditation Sit
Event description
The Ecology of Enough: A Mindful Earth Gathering
Last month, we explored how to stay tender amidst change by trusting the natural rhythms of opening and closing. This month, we turn toward the practice of enoughness; how to remember it, how to feel it, and how to live from it in a world that insists we are never quite enough.
We live in a culture shaped by extraction. Our time, labour, attention, and even our healing journeys are often caught in a loop of more. But the Earth and the dharma remind us that life is made not only of effort but of ease…of doing and being.
Together we will:
-Reflect on the shift from extraction to connection and how it shapes our sense of time, worth, and presence
-Explore dharma teachings on right effort, simplicity, and the wisdom of non-striving
-Reconnect to the ecosystems within and around us that guide us back to balance and belonging
Through meditation, earth connection, and shared reflection, we will root ourselves in rhythms that nourish rather than deplete. We practice letting go of urgency and remembering the steadier ground of presence and interbeing.
Our 90-minute session offers a practical pathway to pause, unwind, and reconnect with ourselves, our community, and the deeper intelligence of life. You’ll be guided through a sitting or lying meditation, gentle mindful movement, and receive readings and poems that invite spaciousness, simplicity, and return.
As David Loy writes, “The ecological crisis is a spiritual crisis. We have forgotten that we are not separate.” This practice helps us remember, in the quiet of shared care.
Our refuge is designed for people of diverse and intersectional identities who long to connect deeply with nature and support collective healing, community building, and activism through mindful and compassionate practices. Here, we come together with our inner and outer landscapes, cultivating the courage to make a meaningful difference in the world.
