Angie Chew

Angie Chew, Brahm Centre’s CEO
Angie Chew teaches min courses including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness for Enhanced Performance and gives a variety of talks on managing emotions and trauma. She was named the Singaporean of The Year 2019 by Straits Times for her work in mental health. She is also an Adjunct Associate Professor of mindfulness at the National University of Singapore. She has conducted mindfulness courses, workshops and retreats to more than 20,000 people across all ages. Her corporate clients extend across various industry sectors – from healthcare (Ministry of Health, National Health Group, SingHealth, Institute of Mental Health, Agency for Integrated Health, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Community Psychology Hub), education institutions (Ministry of Education, Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, Hwa Chong Institution, Raffles Institution, Nanyang Girls Secondary, St Anthony’s Canossian Secondary School ) to finance (DBS Bank, OCBC Bank, Bank of Singapore and Goldman Sachs) just to name a few. Prior to her founding of the charity, Brahm Centre in 2012, she served in senior positions at Singapore Airlines, Visa International, Accenture, Hewlett Packard and government agencies.

Dr Addie Wootten

Dr Addie Wootten, CEO of Smiling Mind and Clinical Psychologist
Dr Addie Wootten is the CEO of Smiling Mind and a Clinical Psychologist by background. Addie brings her extensive background in clinical psychology, research and e-health to her position of CEO of Smiling Mind. Addie is a well-known leader in her field, publishing widely and speaking at a range of events – from corporate settings to schools and government. Smiling Mind prides itself on bringing mental health and wellbeing into the everyday and using inspirational leaders to help achieve this - one highlight being a world-first meditation flight over Sydney hosted by Sir Richard Branson. Smiling Mind has seen significant growth under her leadership, reaching over 6.2 million downloads of the much-loved mindfulness app. Addie is passionate about redefining the way we think about mental health – moving it from a negative to a positive and empowering people to take a positive and proactive approach to their own mental health, just like our physical health. Smiling Mind’s goal is to reach 5 million Australian children and young people by 2021 and is well on the way to achieving this! Smiling Mind is also working with hundreds of businesses to bring mindfulness into their workplaces including a global partnership with IBM in the US.


Dr Bruce Arroll

Dr Bruce Arroll
Bruce is a Professor of General Practice and Primary Health Care at the University of Auckland New Zealand and a practising GP at Greenstone Family Clinic. He does regular general practice at that clinic and also does special consultations using Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT) for people who are feeling stuck in their lives by stress, pain or low energy. He does this work with his own patients and those referred from his clinic colleagues as well as for people outside of the clinic. With 41 years in practise and more than 300 publications in prominent peer-reviewed journals, he was recently awarded the ACC Supreme Award in the New Zealand 2021 Primary Healthcare Awards for his "X-factor" traits of ingenuity, humility and generosity.


Prof Craig Hassed

Professor Craig Hassed OAM has been working within the Faculty of Medicine at Monash University since 1989. Now he also teaches into a number of other faculties, is coordinator of mindfulness programs across Monash and is Director of Education at the Monash Centre for Consciousness and Contemplative Studies. His teaching, research and clinical interests include mindfulness, mind-body medicine, lifestyle medicine, integrative medicine and medical ethics. Craig developed and integrated into the Monash medical curriculum the world-first mindfulness-based healthy lifestyle course called the 'Health Enhancement Program' and has collaborated with Australian and international universities helping them to integrate similar content. He has authored over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and is regularly invited to speak and run courses in Australia and overseas. Craig was the founding president and patron of Meditation Australia, and is on the advisory boards of the International Mindfulness Teachers Association (IMTA) and is a Smiling Mind ambassador. He is a regular media commentator, and has published 14 books and 16 book chapters. Craig featured in documentaries 'The Connection', and 'My Year of Living Mindfully' and co-authored with Richard Chambers two free online Mindfulness courses in collaboration with Monash University and FutureLearn, both of which are rated by Class Central as the two leading online mindfulness courses globally and among the 20 top online courses for any subject in the world. In 2019 Craig was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to Medicine.
