Bring your LGBTQIA+ pride and your building skills to this digital event for our LGBTQIA+ youth community! Prizes, pals, ridiculous creative challenges – it's going to be spectacular.

If you don’t have access to Minecraft – that's okay! We’ll also be streaming live on Zoom for you to watch the goings-on, join in the chat, and connect with your community all over Australia!

We'll be using MINECRAFT JAVA edition! But you can use whichever launcher works best for you.

What to Expect from this Digital Event

Minus18's Minecraft Mayhem events are fun, digital spaces to have a laugh, and spend some time with other LGBTQIA+ young people – from all over the country, no matter your location. You won't be able to unmute in this space, but expect the chat to go OFF (in the most wholesome way).

  • Led by your gamer queer icon host, expect an afternoon of creative challenges to create in your own Minecraft world.
  • In the past we've had challenges like: build a rainbow base, build the biggest rainbow, and other really silly creative activities
  • So of course, we'll have prizes up for grabs!
  • And if you don't have Minecraft? That's okay! Watch along and give us ideas! Put us on in the background and get involved in the chat.
  • The chat will absolutely be popping OFF. Tune in to connect with your queer community around the country.
  • Expect competitions, fun, laughs

If you're a parent or carer:

We know it can be daunting attending an LGBTQIA+ youth event, and your young person might need some encouragement to get there. To comply with child safety standards, we can’t allow parents or adults to be actively engaged in our events.

In saying this, you’re more than welcome to support your child by setting up the technology with them and helping them access the event. From there, you can just hangout nearby and check in on them if you need. Allowing them to engage in the event by themselves will help them build confidence and feel more connected to their youth community.

Rest assured, our Youth Workers, volunteers and Minus18 staff will be there to make sure your child has the sparkliest and safest experience possible.

If you would like to get in touch to discuss this more please reach out at platforms@minus18.org.au

Minus18 acknowledges the Boon Wurrung people as the traditional custodians of the land on which this digital event is broadcasting. We acknowledge their continued connection and contribution to land, water and community, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Sovereignty was never ceded; this always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
