9am - 3pm We learn about the vital role of bees, investigate traditional beekeeping techniques, make beeswax candles and a bee-inspired artwork.
9am - 3pm We discuss the characteristics and roles of native bees, add a native bee hotel to the garden and make a natural lip balm using beeswax and honey.
9am - 3pm We go on a ladybird hunt in the garden and talk about plants that attract them. We craft a pet ladybird and make a tic tac toe game set.
9am - 3pm We find out about butterflies and their role in the garden ecosystem, make paper butterflies and investigate a chrysalis hatch and release program.
9am - 3pm We go hunting, photographing and identifying beneficial bugs, plant some bug attracting flowers and conduct a beneficial bug survey.
9am - 3pm We learn about classifying different creepy crawlies and their scientific names, and make a natural bug repellent.
9am - 3pm We conduct a bird count, talk about types of birds and discuss ethical farming. We create origami birds and rebuild our Farm Kids scarecrow.
9am - 3pm We count and name farm reptiles and amphibians and learn about cold-blooded and warm-blooded animals. We install a frog hotel in the garden.
