Event description

Clothes Swap & Mending Party, co-creating a regenerative future!🧵

Daily Delight Disrupt 's club is co-creating during Minimalism Monday! Aligned with UNSW Pillar 6 in accelerating the transition to a sustainable society and planet, we invite you to rethink fashion through swapping and mending in a playful and curious way.

Join us for #MinimalismMonday #Zerowasteday as we give new life to our favourite clothes, enjoy the joy of mending together and find new pieces we love, all while getting to know each other and sharing wonderful mending tricks! We’ll also share some steps on how to host a clothes swap with your friends, so we can keep this practice delightful, repeatable and fun 👗✨

📅 Date: March 31st
🕒 Time: 15:00 -17:30
📍 Location: Roundhouse UNSW, room 3-4.

What to expect:

  • Clothes Swap👗: Bring your gently used clothing, accessories, books and shoes to swap with others! Refresh your wardrobe sustainably and find unique pieces you’ll love with us.
  • Mending Station 🧵: Got something that needs fixing? or creativity? Our mending station will be set up for you to bring your items back to life! Bring your sewing supplies, or use ours to patch, stitch, or upcycle.
  • Eco-cultural co-creation 🤗: Meet fellow like-minded friends, share stories, and inspire each other with creativity and resourcefulness!

 What to bring:

  • Gently used clothes, accessories, books, and shoes for swapping. (Maximum of 7 items per person, in good condition)
  • Any items that need mending (clothes, bags, etc.)
  • Sewing supplies if you have them and you wanna share (needles, threads, patches), we will also provide some!
  • Snacks or drinks to share (optional)

To help cover supplies and create a cozy atmosphere, we’re asking for a small fee of
$2 as donations. This contribution will go toward materials for mending, embroidery and ensuring we have everything we need for a delightful experience together.

Your support helps us keep these practices going! Thank you for understanding! 💖✨

How many clothes can I swap?

You can swap as many items as you bring! To make it fair for everyone, we’ll provide swapping tokens: each participant will receive one token for every item they bring. You can then use these tokens to “purchase” swapped items (1 token = 1 item). This ensures a balanced exchange for all!

If you don’t find something to swap, you can choose to leave your clothes for donation or take them back home with you!

What will happen to the clothes that don’t get swapped?

We'll collect the items in good condition that weren’t swapped at the event and bring them to the Food Hub UNSW.
