Queer Formal® returns to Adelaide on Friday, 6 November for a huge night of music, drag, dancing, and hanging out with other LGBTQIA+ teens.
We're SO excited excited to be back at Adelaide Town Hall! Expect amazing performances, a packed dance floor, chill spaces to connect, and plenty of free activities.

FAQs
- What is changing with the age range for Minus18 events?
From August 2026 onwards, Minus18 events will be for teens aged 13 to 18.
- I'm 12 years old, can I attend Queer Formal® Adelaide?
Possibly. 12-year-olds may be able to attend on a case-by-case basis, particularly if they are attending with older siblings or friends. These requests will be assessed by Minus18’s Youth Safety Team.
- How do I request attendance for a 12 year-old?
Please contact the Youth Safety Team before the event at youthsafety@minus18.org.au to discuss.
- How do tickets work?
Tickets are free, but registration is essential as this event is expected to reach capacity - we recommend registering early to avoid missing out.
You can only register one ticket at a time, so we can collect accurate information for each attendee. We recommend everyone registers their own ticket.
When registering, you’ll have the option to share a little more about yourself - this is completely optional.
On arrival, your ticket will be scanned at the door and you’ll be given a wristband for entry.
- Will ID be checked?
Yes. We may ask to see ID at the door in some cases. We understand that ID may not always reflect your current name or identity, and any checks will be handled respectfully and with care.
- Can I leave the event and come back?
No passouts are available for this event. Once you leave the venue, re-entry won’t be possible.
You’re welcome to leave at any time during the event if you need to.
- Will there be a bag/coat check at this event?
Yes. A free cloakroom will be available to store any large items safely. You can access it throughout the night.
- How do I access the social script/access guide?
We will add a link to the Social Script soon!
- What time should I arrive?
Doors open at 6:30pm!
- What should I wear?
Whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident. There’s no dress code - formal, casual, glam, or something totally your own is all welcome.
- Is food or drink available?
Yes. There will be pizza, ice-cream and water on the night!
- What if I feel overwhelmed during the event?
You can head to the quiet space at any time or speak to any Youth Worker or Safety Angel - they’re there to support you throughout the night.
- What happens if I lose or can't find my ticket?
No stress - your ticket can be re-issued or checked via your registration details at the door.
