Event description

Teaching the private parts of the body made easy!

Teaching students the anatomically correct names of the private parts of the body can be a sensitive topic for educators and despite training, the topic can still be challenging.

This trauma-informed Professional Development session is specifically designed for educators and addresses how to explicitly teach Early Years students the anatomically correct names of the private parts of the body, safe & unsafe touch AND how to teach students what to do if someone touches them inappropriately. The session aligns with the Australian Curriculum (V9), EYLF and the KS:CPC. Importantly, the session is strength-based and includes body positive messages!

Presented by Karen Keavy (BA, B.Ed, Dip Couns), Karen is passionate about the wellbeing, safety and protection of children and in helping educators deliver body safety messages that are positive and empowering for children!
