Mischief in Motion: Wild and Weedy Plants
Event description
Learn about plants that were once considered useful, now known as Wild and Weedy Plants growing in Adelaide Botanic Garden.
Join the State Herbarium’s resident weeds Botanist, Chris Brodie, on a leisurely stroll around Adelaide Botanic Garden for a tour of some weedy and wild, mischievous and unruly plant species.
Many of these plants were introduced to Australia by migrants from overseas as garden plants, a source of food, or as medicinal plants.
In this Nature Festival event, you will discover the mischievous ways and negative impacts of some of these now wild and weedy, or once loved plant species.
There will be lots of opportunities for discussion and questions as Chris shares his expertise and knowledge.
Note: This tour may contain information which could be confronting to younger audiences, parental guidance is recommended.
