Event description

In Misery Loves Company, the harrowing psychological terror of Stephen King’s Misery gets an unpredictable twist—performed as parody by renowned improvisers Dee Ryan (Second City, The Office, United States of Tara) and Joe Liss (Strangers with Candy, Home Alone 2, Curb Your Enthusiasm), with a special guest star each week. This darkly comedic improvisation explores the obsessive relationship between fan and captive writer, where anything can happen and no one knows how the story will unfold.

Each night, the audience helps shape the escalating tension as Ryan and Liss create a new version of King’s classic, blending psychological thrills with their signature humor. The addition of a different guest each performance brings fresh dynamics to the story, ensuring that every show is unique, unexpected, and filled with nerve-wracking suspense.

Will the writer escape, or will the fan’s devotion take an even darker turn? Misery Unscripted brings you an ever-evolving mix of horror and comedy, where you can’t predict the ending but can count on laughter—and a touch of terror.
