Miss Kaninna + Elsy Wameyo + 6 Seasons of Gariwerd by Amos Roach
Event description
BMF’s much-loved outdoor gem, Gilpin Park returns this year with shows on Friday March 7th and Saturday March 8th.
On Friday March 7, Gilpin Park hosts the incredible Miss Kaninna, a proud Yorta Yorta, Dja Dja Wurrung, Kalkadoon, and Yirendali woman whose music fearlessly carries forward the storytelling traditions of her ancestors. Her genre-blending sound, which fuses punk, rap, and neo-soul, has made waves since her breakout single Blak Britney.Â
Joining her is Elsy Wameyo, a Nairobi-born, Adelaide-raised artist whose music reflects her journey of identity and self-discovery. Drawing from hip-hop, R&B, and gospel, her songs are rich with themes of heritage, resilience, and personal growth.
The event will be fully Auslan interpreted, and Haptic Vests will be available to enhance the experience for Deaf and hard-of-hearing audiences. Â
