This year we are hosting a series of one day Mission Workshops as an encouragement to keep missional engagement on the radar in your church context.

In the busyness of pastoral life our aspirations and call to “advance God’s Kingdom” here on earth through the mission of the local church is an absolute priority, but in reality, the demands and increasing complexities of ministry often dictate an inward focus and a requirement to respond to the urgent.

Our Flourishing Churches Framework has “Congregational Mission” as a third component of church life and for all pastors there is a genuine desire to attend to this. However, too often our desires do not match the realities of our call. This is truly something we understand here in the Mission Catalyst Team, as we are all ministers, have ministered in churches and continue to be contributors and committed to our local churches.

In spite of the challenges of pastoral leadership, we still believe strategically scheduling in some days throughout the year to focus on local mission can be helpful for activating even small side projects. The opportunity to engage with other pastors who contribute their ideas, stories and experiences can be inspiring and help imagination and activation.

To this end, we have devised a series of “Missional Imagination” workshops throughout the year which are designed to prompt, inform, share and provide practical ways of ways churches can engage in congregational mission.
