Artist Bio: Simone Eisler’s imaginary sculptural artworks and installations rework animal, plant and fabricated materials and forms. Her artwork draws from myth, fairy tales, history and ecology. The new forms she creates are re-skinned, cast, fractured, and reconfigured. She employs plaster bandage, poured plaster, bones, fur, and fish scales and works with and over existing natural objects and dolls. These artworks are exhibited in galleries or placed together en masse to create sensory gardens or incursions into the landscape. Simone has exhibited her work in the Philippines, Indonesia, New York, Belgium, Paris, Berlin, India and extensively within Australia. She recently created an 8-metre-high metal Trojan horse covered in over 2,000 plants at Southbank in Brisbane.
