MNM presents: Tim Franklin Quartet / Delay 45 co-presented by the 2026 Brisbane International Jazz Festival

MADE NOW MUSIC is delighted to welcome two world-class acts from down South, Tim Franklin Quartet and Delay 45, performing two sets of wildly expansive music as part of BIJF.

Delay 45 Led by Newcastle trumpeter/composer Tom Avgenicos, Delay 45 features Roshan Kumarage (piano), Dave Quinn (bass) and Ashley Stoneham (drums). Their fearless, highly cohesive approach blends short motifs, loops and songs with dynamic textural interplay, balancing precision and openness as structure dissolves into spontaneity. With performances at Sydney Opera House, Phoenix Central Park, Melbourne Recital Centre and Melbourne International Jazz Festival, as well as internationally across Europe, Delay 45 bring their fourth album, I’ll Go Where You Go, to the stage for its launch.

Tim Franklin Quartet Improvisor, saxophonist and composer Tim Franklin works across free jazz and new music, developing a deeply personal approach rooted in autonomy, collective consciousness, risk-taking, respect and trust. Drawing on the traditions of Australian improvisation, post-Coltrane free jazz and his early experiences growing up in the South Burnett, Tim creates music that is searching, serious and fiercely alive. His 2023 duet album with drummer Maddison Carter, Umbra, was released on Made Now Music.
