You can get here 2 ways - from the north via Blackbutt, or from the south via Esk, Toogoolawah or Crows Nest. A 4WD vehicle is best, but a standard 2WD vehicle (not lowered) can still get here. Keep in mind you’ll be driving on gravel roads for some distance. The road from Blackbutt is steep in places so take care. Slow down for erosion mounds – they may be washed out on the other side. From Blackbutt (12 km) - In Blackbutt, turn south at the pub onto Blackbutt - Crows Nest Road (Hart Street) - Follow Blackbutt - Crows Nest road south for 3km then turn left onto Ogilve Road - Follow Ogilve Road east for 300m then turn right onto Valley Road ("The Valley" sign) - Follow Valley Road south for approx 3km then veer left onto Wilson Road - Follow Wilson Road east for 1.5 km then turn right onto Waterhole Gully Road - Follow Waterhole Gully Road for 4km. Do not take Spelling Gully road. - You will cross 3 creeks, after the last creek there is a climb for approx 1.5 km. At the top of this hill you’ll see a shed and a gate on the left. From Crows Nest (40 km) - Coming from Toowoomba, turn right just after the pub onto Emu Creek Rd (sign to Blackbutt & Toogoolawah) At some point this road changes name to Pierces Creek Rd. Travel 9km from Crows Nest, then turn right onto Middle Rd. - Follow Middle Road 7km to T intersection, then turn left onto McGreevy Road - Go 1km north then veer right onto Nukinenda Road - Follow Nukinenda Road north for approx 14km until you reach a sharp left hand corner marked on letterbox as Waterhole Gully Road. - Turn left onto Waterhole Gully Road and follow for 9km. Take care to stay on the road as there are several side tracks. There are a few grids and a gate on the road, which may be shut. - You will go past a property with some deer fencing on the right hand side, and then some yards. Continue on until you go up a small hill, and you’ll see a shed to the right and a gate. (see photo) From Toogoolawah (65 km) - Travel through town onto Fulham Street which becomes Toogoolawah – Biarra Road - Continue 8km to intersection with The Bluff Road, go straight ahead on The Bluff road, then follow Esk directions from the red line onwards. - Turn right onto Maria Creek Road, travel 10km to intersection at end - Turn right onto McGreevy Road, go past the hall and 2km north to the Nukinenda Road turnoff - Veer right onto Nukinenda Road. Follow Nukinenda Road north for approx 14km until you reach a sharp left hand corner marked on letterbox as Waterhole Gully Road. - Turn left onto Waterhole Gully Road and follow for 9km. Take care to stay on the road as there are several side tracks. (see photo) From Esk (71 km) - Go through Esk and continue north on the Brisbane Valley Highway for approx 3km. - Turn left onto Esk - Crows Nest Road (Green Sign - Biarra District, Crows Nest) - Follow this road approx 14km to junction of Toogoolawah - Biarra Road. - Continue straight ahead, road changes name to The Bluff Road. - Follow The Bluff Road west approx 16km to Maria Creek Road turnoff - Turn right onto Maria Creek Road, travel 10km to intersection at end - Turn right onto McGreevy Road, go past the hall and 2km north to the Nukinenda Road turnoff - Veer right onto Nukinenda Road.
