Description

This is the two-day, face-to-face capstone of Module 1 — where the theory you completed online (Mod 0 + Mod 1) becomes clinical judgment under a real case, with your mentor in the room.

Format: Every session runs the same cycle — a trigger case, a problem list, a mentor mini-teach on any gaps, a full digital work-up in your treatment-planning software, a presentation, and critique.

Day 1 — standardised cases in the morning, your own case from lunchtime: The cohort works through de-identified Tier 1 and Tier 2 trigger cases together during the morning, applying the benchmarking and costing formulas from Mod 1 online. After lunch, you move onto your own patient case — the live capstone case that carries through into Day 2.

Day 2 — your case, presented: Continue and complete your capstone work-up — diagnosis, digital setup, benchmark and cost — then present it for a documented mentor decision: Approved – independent, Approved – with check-in, or Not yet approved (named gap, clear path to re-check).

Before you arrive: Complete Mod 0 and Mod 1 online, with your treatment-planning software installed and licence-verified on the laptop you'll bring. Submit your own capstone case (records/scans, setup started) at least 2 weeks before your course date, with mentor pre-review at least 1 week before — seats without a submitted, workable case go to the next scheduled cohort. Send a short note on your prior experience (years in ortho, aligner cases treated).

Cohort: Small by design — 6 to 12 doctors, facilitator ratio roughly 1:4–6. Dr Michael Ho holds sole approval authority; co-facilitators coach software mechanics only.

Where this leads: Approved doctors are cleared to treat at their case's tier and move on to Module 2 (production: staging, attachments, in-house 3D printing). Not-yet-approved doctors keep their place in the pathway — only "cleared to treat" for that specific case is deferred, with a clear remediation route.
