Moe and Nathan Go To School - Live Podcast
Event description
Moe Stiles (pastor and chaplain) and Nathan Brown (writer and book editor) are both students enrolled in a Master of Human Rights from Curtin University (Perth, Western Australia). Over the past two years—currently 22 episodes—they have been talking together about their studies and how what they are learning interacts with their faith in a series called “Moe and Nathan Go to School” on the Adventist Peace Radio podcast (http://adventistpeace.org/podcast).
Join us for a special live episode of this podcast series as Moe and Nathan discuss two years of studying human rights, what faith contributes to this discussion and how we can work for human flourishing in our world today, as well as an opportunity to interact and ask questions—and perhaps a guest to join the conversation.
Nathan Brown is book editor at Signs Publishing Company, the Adventist publishing house based just out of Melbourne. He is author of 18 books, including Advent, Of Falafels and Following Jesus, For the Least of These and Do Justice, and continues to write for a variety of publications around the world. Nathan has degrees in law, literature, English, professional writing, and justice and theology, and is married to Angela, who works as a trainer of horses and people.
Moe Stiles serves as chaplain for university students and for Adventist aged care, while pursuing postgraduate study. Prior to this, Moe has served for 16 years, as a Departmental Director of Youth Ministry and in local church ministry. Living with her husband Adrian in Melbourne, Moe is driven by justice advocacy work, community connectedness, authentic living, building leaders, and passionately yearns to see the person of Jesus truly honoured in the way we live and love.

Andrea was born legally blind, but she never let that hold her back. She was full of energy and successful at what she did. Then, a shock diagnosis turned her world upside down. It meant she could no longer work and she found herself living in an aged care facility. After two years, she was able to leave and live independently but for someone with a disability and unable to work, living alone was lonely and difficult. Fortunately, Andrea’s support worker introduced her to ADRA. “The first time I walked in the door I knew I was going to be comfortable and happy,” Andrea recalls. It was the start of a new, connected, and meaningful life for Andrea. “Everybody needs somebody to help them. I just want to say thank you. I think I’m very lucky.” Amongst a team of amazing ADRA volunteers, Andrea found the support and purpose she needed. Thanks to people like you, Andrea found a place to belong.
Your support of this event will Help Build Belonging for people like Andrea. For more information or to read Andrea's story visit www.adra.org.au/adraappeal.
