Molonglo Legal presents: Unfair contract terms & the video games industry

From 9 November 2023, significant changes to the unfair contract terms (UCT) regime in Australia came into effect, prohibiting businesses from proposing, using or relying on unfair contract terms in standard form contracts with consumers and small businesses. With the introduction of significant penalties, many larger business have already modified their standard terms, but what does the new legislation mean for small businesses in the gaming industry on the receiving end of standard terms and conditions?
