Free Falls and Injury Prevention Workshop Series
Join Monash Health and City of Casey for a Falls and Injury Prevention Workshop Series, designed for residents aged 55+ who want to stay active, independent, and reduce their risk of falls. This free three-part series is led by health professionals and covers essential topics like home safety, healthy eating, and strength and balance exercises.
While attendance at all three workshops is not compulsory, it is highly recommended. Each session builds on the last, giving you a complete toolkit to prevent falls, improve strength and balance, and maintain overall health. By attending the full series, you'll gain a well-rounded understanding of how to stay safe, active, and independent.
Workshop Details:
Workshop 1: Introduction to Falls Prevention – Monday, 5th May | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Learn falls prevention strategies for your home
- Understand the role of vision and foot care
- Get insights on physical activity guidelines
Workshop 2: Healthy Eating for Older People – Monday, 12th May | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Discover the Australian Dietary Guidelines for older adults
- Learn about calcium and vitamin D for bone health
- Gain practical nutrition tips from a dietitian
Workshop 3: Balance & Strength for Falls Prevention – Monday, 19th May | 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- Learn practical exercises that you can continue at home
- Reduce your risk of falls through movement and activity
You are required to registered for each session you would like to attend. Limited spots available. There are 30 allocated tickets for this series, with a waitlist available if spots fill up. Please let the team know if you’re no longer available to attend any of the sessions.
