Event description

The launch of Monash University’s new Membrane Pilot Facility marks a significant milestone for the Monash Centre for Membrane Innovation (MCMI) in advancing membrane science and technology. This state-of-the-art facility combines innovative equipment with Monash’s renowned academic expertise, laying the foundation for future breakthroughs in areas like water treatment, sustainable energy, and industrial separations. As a new hub for cutting-edge research and industry collaboration, this launch represents a bold step forward, solidifying Monash's leadership in driving innovation and addressing global challenges.

Following the launch, we invite you to stay for a symposium and networking session, designed to foster collaboration and discussion within the broader membrane research community and industry. 

This event will be a wonderful opportunity to tour the newly commissioned facility, connect with leading researchers, and learn more about the cutting-edge work taking place within MCMI. Light refreshments and lunch will be provided.

10:00 AM – Guest Arrival

10:15 – 10:30 AM – Welcome Addresses and Official Launch

10:30 – 11:00 AM – Morning Tea & Networking

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Guided Facility Tour

12:00 – 1:00 PM – Lunch

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM | Symposium

The symposium will feature expert presentations, panel discussions, and research highlights focused on emerging trends, challenges, and opportunities in membrane science and technology. Further details will be shared closer to the date.

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM | Networking and Refreshments

The day will conclude with an informal networking session, generously sponsored by the Membrane Society of Australasia. This session will provide an excellent opportunity to connect with researchers, industry partners, and collaborators over drinks and light refreshments.
