Open Mic Night Mondays at The Oak & Iron Tavern
Kick off your week at The Oak & Iron Tavern's Open Mic Night every Monday! It's a low-pressure spot for seasoned acts to try out new material and first-timers encouraged to have a go. Free drink ticket for all sign ups, and a $30 food and beverage voucher up for grabs for best/most cheered for act. Just love live entertainment? Grab a drink, bring a crew, and enjoy a mix of comedy, poetry, and tunes.

Performer Sign up
Performers can sign up for the event (and grab their free drink ticket), attendees can find a good seat and order food/drink on the night before any performance begins.
- 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Performance & Entertainment
This is where all the entertainment happens, and if there's open time slots attendees can have a go at some karaoke or listen to our host throw out a couple of jokes.

Best Act Prize
This is where the attendees cheer for their favorite act and whichever (signed up) performer gets the loudest cheers wins our $30 food and beverage voucher to use at The Oak & Iron Tavern.

FAQs
- What equipment do you provide?
We provide a standard PA system, 2 microphones, with additional inputs available. If you need special gear or a full drum kit setup, please call us ahead of time so we can accommodate you!
- I need to play some backing music, what are my options?
We can either connect a device to our mixer via Bluetooth (best), or you can provide a USB stick.
- I have a drummer or a whole band coming, is your venue able to accommodate that?
Please call ahead (at least the day before), so we can accommodate that, as we are currently using a smaller area for our open mic night.
- What kind of acts is your open mic night for?
Primarily musicians, and comedians, poetry and spoken word. Please call ahead and ask for our open mic night host so we can see how we can accommodate alternative acts (eg. magic, etc.)
- How does the free drink ticket work?
When you sign up on the performance sheet, you'll receive a drink voucher from our host to use at the bar during the night.
- How is the $30 voucher winner chosen?
At the end of the night, our host runs a quick crowd-decided cheer-off for the favorite act of the evening.(bring your friends!)
- Is there an age restriction to perform or attend?
All ages welcome until the event concludes (just after 9pm) with a parent/guardian for those under 18.
- How much stage time do performers get?
2-3 songs, 3-5mins comedy set - up to 10mins, with the possibility of additional time being offered depending on the night.
- How do I sign up to perform?
Sign-ups open from 6:30 PM in person at the venue! Slots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so come early to lock in your spot. (order of sign up is only a guide to order of performance).
- Is this a free event? Can I bring a group?
Yes, and if you'd like to book a table in advance just call the venue and mention you'd like to be seated near the open mic night.
